Matteblak collaborate with a dynamic selection of architects and designers, who work alongside our team of proactive project managers, highly skilled tradesmen and specialists to take your project from briefing stage to project delivery. Our team has years of experience from architectural design through to the management and building of structural and decorative refurbishment projects, and we have grown by reputation.

In recent times it has also become clear that our clients are interacting more with design decision–making and the new ‘Matteblak Build and Design’ solution offers a versatile approach to complement this and the appointed designers and architects, when moving from the drawing board to the reality of project restrictions. This fresh approach recognises the credibility of our design partners and our experience gives us the authority to provide assistance in a refreshingly inspirational and unlaboured way.

Process

Matteblak are turning the traditional construction method ‘Design and Build’ on its head for 2011 and promoting our new working practice, “Matteblak Build and Design”. The key to the initiative is that our appointment is primarily for the build aspect. Our design services are a feature that we can incorporate at any stage with adaptable levels of involvement creating a fluid dynamic, tailored to each individual project.

All of our projects carry our tried and tested contract and project management model ensuring the administration is stream lined but effective, from the original quotation through to programme and cost management.

Matteblak is committed to providing a range of services to reduce the carbon footprint ofyour home or business. We offer a streamlined Eco Audit to ensure our clients receive the most up to date information on the various government backed FITS Incentives that support sustainable living. It really is a viable time time to invest in the future.

Solar Panel Technology fitted before April 2012 will be subject to the highest feed-in rates and fixed for the next 25 years. An equivalent incentive for Solar Water Heating isdue to launch in April this year. Rates for these incentives are to reduce yearly as take up increases, eventually stopping altogether at some point in the future. Early adoption is recommended.

Studio

While Matteblak is a design and construction firm, Matteblak Studio has been developed to emphasise that we have additional and very relevant passions beyond simply the plan and build of a project. Where possible continue to work with artists and designers to create environments to be experienced, which could be permanent live / work structures or temporary structures or details for an exhibition or event.

Celebrating Glastonbury’s 40th Year.

Artist Patrick Beveridge and architectural designers Matteblak illuminate the Love Field with SPHERE. A 12ft moon-like light sculpture that exploits the purity, formability and ethereal translucency of Corian. As a beacon of calm and contemplation, SPHERE offers a mesmerising luminosity based on the phenomenon of ‘whiteout’ as it appears to phase in both brightness and form.

at Home House Members Club, Portman Sq.

Shadow Boxing on 16th October was voted ‘the party of Freize week’ by guests. Home House club entertained over 900 guests into the early hours, including prominent collectors, architects and curators from the Guggenheim, Whitney Museum, Whitechapel Gallery, Zabadovic Foundation, who came to view site-specific work by artists Kate Terry, Patrick Beveridge, Luke Montgomery and a light and sound installation by Laura Buckley and Haroon Mirza and to celebrate the launch of Matteblak’s exciting new Art Into Architecture scheme.
