Celebrating Glastonbury’s 40th Year.

Artist Patrick Beveridge and architectural designers Matteblak illuminate the Love Field with SPHERE. A 12ft moon-like light sculpture that exploits the purity, formability and ethereal translucency of Corian. As a beacon of calm and contemplation, SPHERE offers a mesmerising luminosity based on the phenomenon of ‘whiteout’ as it appears to phase in both brightness and form.

Shadow Boxing
at Home House Members Club, Portman Sq.

Shadow Boxing on 16th October was voted ‘the party of Freize week’ by guests. Home House club entertained over 900 guests into the early hours, including prominent collectors, architects and curators from the Guggenheim, Whitney Museum, Whitechapel Gallery, Zabadovic Foundation, who came to view site-specific work by artists Kate Terry, Patrick Beveridge, Luke Montgomery and a light and sound installation by Laura Buckley and Haroon Mirza and to celebrate the launch of Matteblak’s exciting new Art Into Architecture scheme.

Full house renovation

This Edwardian ‘Lion House’ required modernising and refurbishing, to include the excavation of the basement and the rear garden to vertically ‘connect’ this extra floor to the rest of the house and create ample natural light.

While Matteblak is a design and construction firm, Matteblak Studio has been developed to emphasise that we have additional and very relevant passions beyond simply the plan and build of a project. Where possible continue to work with artists and designers to create environments to be experienced, which could be permanent live / work structures or temporary structures or details for an exhibition or event.
